Way back in 2020 before Covid overtook the world I was asked by my friend Clare if I would like to be included in a book she was writing about the local artists and makers in and around Stroud. I’ve known Clare for over 20 years having first met when I started selling at the Stroud Farmers Market which she cofounded along with the highly successful Made In Stroud Shop, both of which have been responsible for a huge part of my business.

The book is a series of conversations with artists and makers about what it means to be in the thriving creative industry around Stroud, its long history and how we found ourselves becoming part of it.

Speaking to artists, illustrators, designers, maker, potters and many more, her book provides a wonderful insight into the rich and beautiful history of making in Stroud, since voted Britain’s best town to live in.
